This policy has really paid off, as I have a large customer base and getting new clients every week.

We recommend our new clients to book early, as a 3-4 week waiting list is not unusual. Our services now include, Show clips, Custom Clips, Hand-stripping, Nail Care, Ear Care, Anal Gland Care and I also run a pick up and drop off service. Interview with Yvonne

My name is Yvonne Maxwell and from as long as I can remember I have had a lifelong passion with animals, I grew up helping my dad train his race horses in my spare time, I also helped my mum groom, train and breed her long haired German Shepherd’s. I longed to work with animals and in Jan 2005 I decided to search for a grooming school to undertake my dream. I found a school called Groomers Training in Market Drayton, Shropshire, I called them and was shocked to hear they had a two year waiting list but when I thought about it I realised they must be very popular because they were fully booked.

I started my intense 6-week grooming course in March 2007 and passed with a commendation and then got registered for my City & Guilds 7750 and passed with a Distinction in August 2007. I opened my salon Airport Groomers as soon as I was qualified, since then my business has been going great, with my custom built salon as my centrepiece. I have made huge investments in specialist tools and equipment to ensure I have the best and safest equipment, I am always looking at investing in the best equipment for my business and ultimately this gives your pet an exclusive grooming experience.

When did you start?
I started grooming in March 2007 in a grooming school called Groomers Training in Market Drayton, Shropshire. I took an intense course and loved every minute of it with the intent of opening my own salon as I longed to work with animals all my life.

How long have you been established?
Airport Groomers opened in August 2007.

How many staff work at your salon?
Four staff, myself the main groomer, a bather, and two students from the local college who are studying Animal Care.
